Picking a Cat Name

You bought an adorable tiny kitten, a small ball of fur, and you think you're prepared for everything. You have a soft, warm home for it, the litter box is stocked and ready, the toys are on standby, and the food and drink is packed away in a cupboard. However, the first time your friends come over, they coo and pet the kitten gingerly. Then they look at you expectantly-“What’s his name?” And suddenly you realize your new pet is nameless, and that decision should not be made lightly. This name is the first step in creating a long lasting bond with your cat. Remember that a name should be no longer than two syllables, or it should be able to be made shorter-this will probably be the name you use most frequently with your cat. Also, try to have a distinctive sounding name for your cat so that it will not conflict with the name for any other pet in your household. Your animals will struggle if you name one “Coffee” and one “Softy.” That tiny kitten in your hand may grow up to look entirely different, so calling him “Precious” or “Tiny” might be a decision you will come to regret.
