Lawmakers: new law needed to stop 'crush videos'

Lawmakers say new law is needed to stop 'crush videos' depicting animal cruelty

Lawmakers and legal experts say Congress can overcome free speech protection and write a new law banning videos that show graphic violence against animals.

Witnesses told a House Judiciary panel Wednesday that the Supreme Court left the door ajar in April when it struck down a federal ban on so-called crush videos.

The videos appeal to a certain sexual fetish by showing women crushing to death small animals with their bare feet or high-heeled shoes.
